Farmacia, Calle Pajaritos No. 14 (Finding this can

of paper, go down to market. Show it to anyone and they’ll set
you in the right direction. It’s not far.)

Issste began as a government program offered throughout the country
to assist lower income families and the elderly, but it is now open
to the public. They have a wide range of grocery products from ketchup
to shampoo and their prices are the best you’ll find in Taxco.
Their pharmacy service is excellent. If they don’t have what you
want, they’ll get it for you in a day and they’ll do it
at the lowest cost possible. Their goal and one they admirably achieve
is to ensure that all people have access to the medicines and groceries
they need at a price they can afford.
Our Comment: When we have been ill, Issste has been
a life-saver for us, always getting us the prescription drugs we need
as fast as possible. If you can't find the Spanish name of the medicine
you are looking for, just ask Rosa Martha Gómez Rendón
and she will look it up for you.
